Thermal inspection identifies missing insulation

I did a home inspection yesterday and found what appeared to be missing insulation. By chance a security system was being installed and the builder needed to cut an access hole in the plywood to gain access for that. During my attic inspection I crawled through that little hole and sure enough...missing a 4-foot batt! Without the access hole I couldn't verify it. Without the IR camera I wouldn't have been able to identify it and going unnoticed would decrease the home's efficiency (and cost more). Save a lot of money by spending a little money on the inspection. If nothing else, peace of mind.
