Termites

Ok folks,
I know I'm a home inspector, but I'm also an investor--at least a number of years ago I was in GA.  I lived in GA for nearly seven years while in the military and as of late, the last five years, I've rented my primary residence.  Actually, I converted my home to a rental.  I haven't had an annual termite inspection on this house in years--I always looked really hard for problems and took care to not create an environment  conducive to the little creeps, I mean creatures..  Now I'm selling this house and I live in Ca.  I haven't seen this house in years and guess what?  I have termite damage at the garage.  I have it all repaired and it'll get treated within a week, but here is the story you can learn from--keep an eye on your property!  If you end up renting it, get a bonded treatment on it with annual inspections.  Wow, even home inspectors have to deal with problems.  By the way, I have four other properties for sale--all inexpensive and great investment properties.

P.S. Don't forget to order your best home inspection in the industry.  I'll throw in a thermal inspection for cheaper than usual but you have to let me know you've read this blog.  :-)
